Original Brand Concept
Back in 2018, Mike Charlie began as a conventional dream for a digital fashion store, far from the eco-haven it is today.
Then, the wild concept of zero waste hit my world, leaving my jaw on the floor – who doesn't leave a footprint? That disbelief, however, didn't just sit there. It ignited a curious, almost obsessive dive into the messy realities of global waste.
From that deep plunge, something shifted. Not overnight, but super slowly, a quiet overhaul began. My habits, my mindset – from what I ate, to what I wore, to how I nurture my body – every aspect of my life started aligning with a cleaner, purer, more intentional path. It was a gradual, beautiful unraveling, fixing my own world, until the urge to share this newfound clarity became undeniable.
Mike Charlie Co. Today
Fast forward to today, and Mike Charlie Co. stands as the ultimate testament to my slow living, environmentalism and mindfulness journey. I radiate my ideas, love for nature and art through this brand by manifesting my beliefs in every detail of the business from design, packaging and operations.
I also have been through a lot personally, and it just seems I can’t break up with my brand each time I feel like giving it up for the last few years. Yet, here we are, still together, lasting longer than any fleeting relationship (and trust me, that's saying something! 😅) And now even if it means leaving my city and my entire life behind, my brand wants to exist with me in a remote island and live peacefully with the sand and sea. Who is Mike Charlie?
Let's clear up a common question right away: "Who is Mike Charlie?" It's not a person, but a personal nod to my mom. Her initials are MC, and in the phonetic alphabet, that's "Mike Charlie" – a call sign my late dad, a frequency radio enthusiast, used for her. She instilled in me foundations of composting, segregation, healthy food diet, and a deep, abiding love for plants and gardening.
